About Safe Kids Clark County

Who are we?

Safe Kids Clark County is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of injuries to children. We are part of the National Safe Kids Campaign, the first and only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to the prevention of unintentional childhood injuries - the number one killer of children ages 14 and under. One of the more than 500 Safe Kids Coalitions across the country, Safe Kids Clark County was established in Las Vegas in 1993 with Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center as our lead organization.

We are a diversified group of indivduals and organizations dedicated to preventing injuries and death to children in our community.

We are composed of hospitals, health organizations, law enforcement agencies, fire departments and EMS, the auto industry, gaming industry, retail industry, insurance companies, doctors, nurses, parents, and, most importantly, KIDS!

Our common goal is to prevent death and reduce injuries in our community in the following risk areas:

  • Child Passenger Safety
  • Drowning Prevention
  • Fire/Burn Prevention
  • Holiday Safety
  • Home Safety
  • Pedestrian Safety
  • Poison Prevention
  • Sport Safety

Through community action, public awareness and education, technology, and public policy initiatives, Safe Kids is closing the injury prevention gap in our community. Whether it is the correct use of a child safety seat, proper use of a helmet and bike, installation of a smoke detector, our coalition is creating safe homes and communities for children.
